INTERVIEW #24: WHITNEY SULLINS (Actress)

Q #1: At what age did you start acting?
Whitney’s Answer: “I enjoyed “performing” at a very young age, and I began particpating in local theatre around age 12. I was in several plays throughout middle and high school, and soon I turned my attention to film.”
Q #2: What acting projects have you been a part of?
Whitney’s Answer: “Most recently, I have had a lead in the independent action/thriller Kerberos (trailer on YouTube), a lead in the sci-fi film The Tesla Device (trailer on YouTube), and a lead role in the short horror film Tainted Blood, which will premiere this month at the Macon Film Festival. I also have a role in the upcoming web series My Mother/Agent.”
Q #3: What acting role has been most memorable for you so far?
Whitney’s Answer: “Well, I will always remember my first lead in a play. I played Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. More recently, the role of Katie Menacci in Kerberos was especially challenging because Katie faces so many difficulties, but she is such a brave girl.”
Q #4: Where has been your favorite place you have filmed?
Whitney’s Answer: “I loved filming in downtown Atlanta because it is hectic and noisy. You have to really get in “the zone” to concentrate on your performance, but it makes the end product even more authentic!”
Q #5: Who would you like to work along side of in the future?
Whitney’s Answer: “I love working with a variety of different actors because there is so much to learn from them. So, I look forward to working with many actors!”
Q #6: What was your very first red carpet event?
Whitney’s Answer: “I’ll let you know after the premiere of Tainted Blood!”
Q #7: Are you working any acting projects right now?
Whitney’s Answer: “I will be in the upcoming original play “Frat Girl.” It’s so fun to be able to do both theatre and film work!”
Q #8: Do you have any advice for anyone who wants to act as a career or any advice in general about careers?
Whitney’s Answer: “It’s important to develop a tough skin and be able to move on. Being confident in your abilities helps in any career choice. Determination goes a long way too!
Q #9: What is your favorite past TV show?
Whitney’s Answer: “I still love Sabrina, the Teenage Witch! I wanted to be just like Sabrina when I was younger. Gilmore Girls is a close second though!”
Q #10: If What is your favorite current TV show?
Whitney’s Answer: “I love SNL, but for a drama I would have to say True Blood.”
Q #11: What is your favorite past movie?
Whitney’s Answer: “Definitely the Wizard of Oz!”
Q #12 What is the last movie you saw in the movie theatre?
Whitney’s Answer: “Avatar, loved it.”
Q #13: What is your favorite subject in school?
Whitney’s Answer: “English/literature. Reading is my obsession.”
Q #14: What do you like to do when you have a little time off?
Whitney’s Answer: “Watch movies (horror especially!), read, or hang out with friends.”
Q #15: What is one thing you can’t live without?
Whitney’s Answer: “My family/friends!
Q #16: Do you have any pets?
Whitney’s Answer: “I have 2 crazy cats!”
Q #17: If you had a soundtrack to your life what song/songs would have to be on it?
Whitney’s Answer: “Wow-so many for my whole life! But right now I would say Mary’s Song by Taylor Swift.”
Q #18: What charity is closest to your heart?
Whitney’s Answer: “My mom works for family & children services, and they do several events, projects, and fundraisers for local families. It’s so rewarding to help them out!”
