Q #1: At what age did you start singing?
Savannah’s Answer: “I started singing when I was 2 years old. It is a pretty common answer for all artists out there, but I have been singing ever since I could talk. It has been something I loved. I love making people smile and perform. It was always a fun thing for me, and always kept me occupied.
Q #2: At what age did you start learning guitar?
Savannah’s Answer: “I started playing guitar when I was 13. My 13th Christmas, my parents bought me this red electric guitar, and it was pretty cool. I mean, I didn’t ask for a guitar for Christmas. It was kind of really came out of nowhere, and I had no idea I was getting one. It was a huge surprise. Ever since then, I have been teaching myself, and I try and learn something new everyday whether it is learning a new chord or Googling something. The internet has been very helpful for me kinda to figure out different tuning patterns and stuff.
Q #3: How did you get discovered?
Savannah’s Answer: “I have been going to these singing competitions. My parents always put me in singing competitions and nothing really was happening. There was one point in time where I was like oh my gosh something is going to happen, and it went down the drain. So, I know not to get my hopes up. I didn’t think anything was going to happen. So, my parents told me to put some videos up on Youtube. Then, a girl on Myspace sent me Keith’s information, and I sent him a demo. He contacted me back and he signed me to his manager deal at Levosia Entertainment. It has been awesome. I have gotten on Radio Disney, gone on tour, and having such a blast.
Q #4: What was your first cover on YouTube?
Savannah’s Answer: “My first cover on Youtube was “Listen” by Beyonce. I decided to sing that because we just got home from seeing Dream Girls, and I felt inspired to sing my heart out like Beyonce.”
Q #5: What has been your favorite cover you have done so far?
Savannah’s Answer: “I really liked doing “I Hate This Part” by the Pussy Cat Dolls because you really don’t expect a cover of that kind of song. I liked doing my newest one Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” is my favorite song, and it is fun doing that one.”
Q #6: Who are your inspirations?
Savannah’s Answer: “I love Celine Dion. I mean her voice and music is amazing. I like the way she carries herself. She is so classy. Everyone respects her in the music business, so I really look up to her. I also really like Christina Aguilera, and the Beatles are a huge inspiration. I also like Lady Gaga. She takes huge risks with crazy costumes and cool concepts for songs.”
Q #7: Where do you get inspiration for your songs?
Savannah’s Answer: “You know, I get a lot of my inspiration from my own experiences with guys and life, but I get at lot of inspiration from my best friend’s experiences as well. She will be telling me all her experiences with a guy, and I am like hmm that would be a good idea for a song. When I watch a movie or read a book; I spark some ideas.”
Q #8: What was your first red carpet event?
Savannah’s Answer: “Oh, I don’t even know! I think it was a foundation event. It was my first time meeting Aly and AJ, and I kind of freaked out a little. I had to perform in front of them; I sang “Goodbyes” at the event. It was fun! It was really cool! I was kind of late to the event, so I just got thrown onto the red carpet. My publicist Laura was like “smile, pose!” and I am like “ok, ok!” There were lots of photographers, and it was kind of crazy, but it was cool. I love going to events and meeting people and meeting new friends. It is fun. It is definitely a different experience. You are like in front of all these photographers, on this huge red carpet, but it’s cool. It always is fun to get dressed up, glammed up, and wear fun dresses.”
Q #9: If you could perform anywhere, in the world, where would it have to be?
Savannah’s Answer: “Oo, if I could perform anywhere in the world where would it be? I always wanted to perform in front of the Eiffel Tower at night time and like fireworks going off. Hey I can dream. I think that would be so amazing. I have a weird fascination with the Eiffel Tower. I love everything about it. I would love love to perform in front of that. I would also like to perform at our arena in Oregan; it is called a Rose Garden. I would love to perform there because so many artists have performed there. It is legendary.”
